CLEAR LAKE

A few times every year I try to make it up to Clear Lake.  It is one of the best fisheries in Northern California.  You can usually catch large bass even in the dead of winter.  I always stay at LAKE PLACE RESORT where I get a great room, at a great price with great hospitality.

Here are photos of some previous trips.

We took guide Larry Hemphill one night, this is his 7.2 lbs lunker fat head.

Jim pulled this 4.2 lber out early on in the trip.

Here is my disputed 10 lber, it might have been more like 9 1/2. She was much bigger than she looked.

Here is my biggest of the trip, 4.7 lbs.

Even though we were fishing for bass, Paul picked up a nice size cat fish.

In the old days we had to tow people around that were too lazy to paddle. Here Paul is using Leo as a towboat.

Here is one of my best fish of this particular trip. It's a nice plump one. I'm not sure how much she weighed, but it was a nice lookin' fish.

Paul the catfish wrangler, chalk another one up for him.

Leo pulled this 5.1 lber out from the deep, it gave a really good fight.

Here is a smaller 3.1 lber. DINK!

Ross is fishing off the dock at the resort. He probably has about 20+ beers in him.

Rosco pulled this 3 lber out, one of several for him that day.

Leo is on the patio at Lake Place Resort.

This is an actual picture I took of a sunset at Clear Lake.
